On the night of November 25th, CANARD performed the inspection of 2 PAPI systems at Paris-Orly Airport, operated by AdP. The runway was the recently renamed 07/25 (previously 08/26). This is the 5th operation by CANARD in France, proof of the trust that AdP has put into our solutions and technology. The inspection was performed during the night, with no disruption whatsoever to airport operations.
Paris-Orly Airport had the chance to see the flexibility and accuracy of our solution, which is being used regularly for PAPI inspections at Charles de Gaulle Airport (also operated by AdP) since 2018. The inspections took a few minutes and the accuracy and repeatability was proven within 3 minutes of a degree.
In the particular case of this runway at Orly Airport, this inspection is part of the final activities being performed to open the track to traffic after a reconstruction work that started in July 2019. This scenario has become a very familiar case for CANARD, as our solution is being used after airport works in the commissioning and certification of new facilities, as it was recently the case in 2 airports in Papua New Guinea and Milan-Linate Airport in Italy.
Thanks to AdP and Paris-Orly Airport for trusting CANARD and help us deliver another successful PAPI inspection.
