CANARD has successfully completed the project “Inspection of GNSS Approaches using RPAS”, which has been granted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, through its program of support for Innovative Business Groups (AEI). The Aerospace Cluster of Madrid, European Satellite Services Provider (ESSP), EXPACE and CANARD have participated in the project.
The project consisted in the definition and proof of concept of the validation of approaches based on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) through RPAS (drones) and flight simulators.
The current regulation has been analyzed and a generic operation manual has been created. The result of the project has been more than satisfactory and has been validated with a successful test flight at the airfield of Marugán, Segovia on March 18, 2018.
