CANARD attends the The Great Lakes Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives

October 21 – October 23
2018 Airport Operations & Maintenance Conference
CANARD met with representatives from the FAA to discuss UAV-Regulatory & Operational Perspective.
The Great Lakes Chapter-AAAE last conference brought very good news for the drones Industry.  The FAA has shown interest on how to improve the efficiency of airport maintenance using RPAs, considering that drones could operate at airports, in a regular way, in operational areas considered as reduced danger zones.
The FAA’s vision for fully integrating UAS into the National Airspace System (NAS) entails UAS operating harmoniously, side-by-side with manned aircraft, occupying the same airspace and using many of the same air traffic management systems and procedures. This vision goes beyond the accommodation practices in use today, which largely rely on operational segregation to maintain systemic safety. The use of RPAs for NAVAIDs and airports inspection in USA will be a reality very soon.
Realising this vision requires collaboration across industry, CANARD continue collaborating with US bodies, association and agencies to try to contribute making this happen.
