The DGAC has tested and validated the use of drones for PAPI commissioning and calibrations

The DGAC (French Civil Aviation Authority) carried out a series of tests in April this year in order to validate various calibration methods. After analyzing the calibration of PAPI with different technologies and the solution with drones offered by CANARD, our technology has obtained a favorable result by the French DGAC to be used in the entire network of airports in the country.

The DGAC concludes that the advantages using drones for PAPI calibration are the ease of commissioning, the reduction in runway occupation time, the immediate evacuation in case of emergency and the accuracy of the measurements of the controlled parameters.

The demonstration of CANARD DRONES technology and procedures and the positive results will enable the company to provide these services in France.
